India added 4.39 mln new GSM users in September 2006, the highest ever monthly additions figure, boosting the total mobile base to more than 127.83 mln, according to the Cellular Operators’ Association of India.
Mobile global subscribers have grown at a 15% CAGR rate, and global mobile revenues have seen a similar 18% CAGR, exceeding $667 bln, says Pyramid Research.
Revenue from mobile infrastructure in Japan peaked at $3.4 bln in 2004. Despite a slight increase in 2006, revenue will decline by 7.5% between 2006 and 2010 as current mobile network buildouts come to an end, Gartner reports.
In 2005, there were approximately 198,500,000 wireless subscribers in the United States. 24%, or 47,640,000, of those subscribers were business wireless subscribers, Research and Markets says.

Western European mobile phone market, consisting of traditional mobile phones and converged devices, grew by 7% YTY in Q2 2006 as shipments reached 41.4 mln units compared to 38.5 in Q2 2005.
