Principal Product Strategist - Social Network

Location: Wherever you are - if you're the right person, they'll bring the office to you.

About the Company
Highly confidential. We wouldn’t even trust your grandmother with this information -- unless she made us pie. You know, that secret recipe, made-from-scratch pie that you can’t help but stuff yourself with and then gurgle and mewl like a happy baby, spilling all sorts of personal secrets in the process?

Yeah, that pie.

The Opportunity
Build big. Build cool. Build now. Use your inside-out, back-to-front, Ajax-to-Zopa understanding of social networks to lead an idea from napkin-drawn concept to well-publicized completion. They don’t know it, but a 5-million strong audience of young adults wants you to hurry up.

As Principal Product Strategist you’ll lend your bleeding-edge “2.0” expertise and foresight to the User Interface, infrastructure, technological underpinnings, marketing, and long-term success plan of this well-backed project.

The general population might not be using social networks yet, but success here will put you on a first-name basis with your industry. More importantly, you’ll get carte blanche to put your ideas and expertise to the test.

Who Should Apply
- You’ve built a successful social networking site from the ground up, with bells-and-whistles that aren’t simply for show, but are loved and used by visitors.
- You understand how programming, database design and UI come together to create a scalable, fast, intuitive environment.
- You know what it takes in terms of features and functionality to promote viral usage among 20-something young adults.
- You’ve built a site that has room for growth, and can accommodate shifts in both user preferences and future technologies.
- You’re not a solo artist. You know how to lead a team, talk to stakeholders, and champion an idea without being a dictator who drinks their own cool-aid.
- You’ve got huge ideas that manage to encapsulate but also go beyond the memes and zeitgeist of the day.
- Yoda and Oprah call you for advice.
