Rugged Devices

Handhelds aren't just for consumer and office use, though that is where they are most often found. They are also needed in harsh and rugged environments where your average PDA or smartphone won't do. Rugged handhelds are considerably larger and heavier than your average handheld. Most of these products are used in data collection – in warehousing, logistics and delivery, and where bar coding scanning or RFID equipment is in place.

Most Rugged units run PocketPC, some still run DOS.
