Smart Phones and Cell Phones

The cellular market has exploded with a wide range of products and formats. These products create a whole host of opportunities for consumers and challenges for designers. The increase in mobile workers has created a growing market for mobile phones with PDA functionality so that the user has easy access to contact information and calendar. This new generation of mobile phone features advanced information management, combined with organizer functionality and even multimedia infotainment features like MPEG and digital audio, creating the phone of the future today.

Motorola unveils Microsoft-powered phones Among new wireless handsets unveiled by Motorola this week, its traditional-style MPx100 offers triband, Bluetooth and Secure Digital memory card port, along with a Wi-Fi add-on to allow access to corporate networks. The MPx100 will be available later this year. (Feb. 25, 2004)
